Pigs must be flying

For those of you that know how I feel about hair, please have a seat before you finish reading this. I gave Alexis her first haircut on Christmas Eve. It was only a small section, but Alexis now has bangs.

I cut my bangs on Thursday and Alexis said they were cool and that she really liked them so ..... she now has bangs. I did not even pass out or anything.

Alexis' EEG

Alexis went in on Sunday for a 24 EEG. They are checking her brain waves and looking for seizures. She was a good sport about it and even asked to go to Mc Donald's.

PFK

We had a great time at the Pilots for Kids party at Beaumont. Alexis got to see Mrs. Clause, Baldy, and SANTA !!!! Every year we have fun eating cookies, making crafts, visiting with the pilots and even getting gifts. It is such a blessing to see the love and generosity of the Northwestern pilots that come every year to hang out with special needs kids. It was also great to see so of the UMDM dancers. Thank you all so much for your time. I hope you all have a great Christmas.

OK, this was too unbelievable !!! Alexis and I just had lunch at Taco Bell and were heading home. We turned off of Main Street (Livernois) on to School Street in Clawson and his is what we saw..... A deer in the middle of the road. I stopped, got a photo and then it jumped into a yard. As Alexis said "I can not believe it!!" Wow a deer just off the main road. What is next?? Oh well it just added to our Halloween adventure.

Clawson Fire Station Open House

On Sunday we attended the Clawson Fire Station's Open House. We had lots of fun !!! There were doughnuts, cider, fire info, and even a blow up. The fire men put on quite a show by showing us how they would rescue someone and cut open a car. It was loud but very cool. They even removed the roof. After the open house we went to Clawson park for the fall festival. What fun...more blow ups, a taste fest, animals, and a hayride. We finished the hayride just before the rain. It was a great day !!!!!!!!11

FUNDRAISER TIME !!!!!

OK, OK, I know that everyone who reads this has been wondering when Schalm would be starting their fundraising. Well the answer in now!!

The first one is Frankenmuth fundraising. you can go to their web site at:
http://www.frankenmuthfundraising.com/
make sure you enter the school code #1767 so Schalm gets credit.

For Alexis to get credit you need to enter her name, Alexis Forster, and her teachers name,
Ms Smith. All online orders must be completed by Sept.24.

___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

The next fundraiser is on going. It is Market Day.

You can go to http://www.marketday.com/ and search around. In order for Schalm to get the credit you need to enter the schools account # 12005

Both of the fundraisers our COMPLETELY OPTIONAL. I am only posting them on here in the event you want to do it. I am not expecting anyone to buy anything.

If by some chance you do purchase something please either call me or email me so I know if there are things to be picked up.

2007 Michigan State Fair

Daddy, Alexis, and I went to the state fair today. We had so much fun. We saw sheep, goats, pigs, cows, ducks, bunnies, quail, turkeys (both baby and adult), and horses. We not only saw all of those animals we made sure we touched every single one. Alexis and her daddy both got to ride an elephant. It was very cool and bumpy says Alexis. Of course while at the state fair we had to have the following "snacks".... funnel cake, cotton candy and our favorite...lemonade. Lemonade is the drink that goes on forever. We drink it, then Alexis eats the lemons and daddy eats the ice. True family fun. While at the state fair we met Rover, he taught us "code red rover, grown up come over." This was a tour of rovers house where we learned about safety.

Alexis practiced milking a cow on 2 pretend cows before finally getting the chance to do it on a real one. She had a great time and was very brave.

The main reason we went to the state fair on Sunday was that our church's choir was going to perform. It was great to hear the choir, youth choir, and gospel choir perform outside of church. What a great way to share about Jesus. I think they did a good job representing Zion Christian Church.

We did not do any rides because the price was outrageous, but we still had a super time.

McLane Family Picnic

We had a great time Saturday at Chris' work. They had a family picnic with lots of food, prizes and fun. It did rain but that did not stop Alexis from playing on all the blow ups. Thank you Ralph(general manager) and McLane for a great day.

Hannah Montana sighting?

No that is just Alexis who was treated to a "secret celebrity Libby Du" She got a wig, a cool microphone, a very special guitar makeup compact, a neat backpack, and she got to pick 5 thing off the "pick a mix" wall. It was lots of fun, but I think next time we would go without the wig and just get our hair done up.

Do you want fries with that?

OK, no one laugh....
I got a job...I will be as of 9-11-07 an employee of Del Taco. I should be working a few hours a day while Alexis is in school. We shall see how this goes. The link to Del Taco is over to the left. I will let you know how it goes.

Aug 12, 2007

I know, I know.... nothing for so long now I can't stop. After Dreams and Wings (see below) we stopped off at IKEA. They were doing free face painting. Isn't she just the cutest? The painters were awesome. They were so fast and did such a great job on everyone. I did get their card and do know what they charge if anyone needs a good face painter.

Aug 11, 2007

Here are a few pictures from our Dreams and Wings adventure Alexis had today (8-11-07). Alexis and daddy got to fly in a plane where the pilot let her steer the plane and put down the landing gear. After her plane ride Alexis and daddy took a ride in a hot air balloon. It was loud but a lot of fun.
For those who don't what Dreams and Wings is, it is a program where pilots donate their plane and time to take special needs kids for the ride of their life. We participate in the program through UMDM which stands for University of Michigan Dance Marathon. UMDM is one of the largest student-run non-profit organizations on the University of Michigan’s campus. Conducting events throughout the year, UMDM strives to raise both monetary support and awareness for the needs of pediatric rehabilitation programs. The creative and interactive therapies we provide through the allocation of funds to C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan and Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan enrich the lives of children in our community.
